A lot goes on in a classroom packed with small chairs. The chairs are not all the same and that is alright. Preschool should not appear to be ideal. It is alive, energetic and emotional. Children have big hearts even though they are small. A child can be clung to a parent and be terrified to release it. Another child might run in happily without hesitation. Either response is normal. Teachers ask, “How can we fix this?” Children learn step by step to share, take turns, or select other options. These small lessons aid social growth.
Even snack time has important lessons. Children are taught how to wait, share and even count. An example would be, one child observing, You have two, and I have one. This shows numbers in a tangible, useful way. Creative time is messy but fun. Kids often end up with paint everywhere. The overall outcome might not be that perfect, but that is alright. The creative process is what matters most.
Kids slowly learn to be independent. They learn zipping jackets, opening lunch boxes, and washing hands. This might be challenging at the initial stages but every success or victory makes you confident. They start saying, “I can do this.” This emotion is quite significant to their development.
Teachers play a crucial role. They observe children and know their tempers. They can also play a song in case the classroom is noisy. In case children are fatigued, they may read a book. Teaching little ones relies on experience and intuition.
Parents are always in the dilemma of whether their children are learning adequately. Small progress can be a clear sign. Previously upset children may now leave smiling. Quiet children may become more talkative and creative.
Preschool is not a perfection thing. It is regarding the development, education, and experimentation daily. It can be noisy and chaotic, yet it can be filled with significant moments. And the children also mean, you see, sometimes bring home a bit of glitter.
